Anna Arno

Anna Arno (b. 1984) is the pseudonym
of an accomplished writer, translator,
columnist, and art critic. She has written
for some of the prominent media
outlets in Poland, including Gazeta
Wyborcza and Tygodnik Powszechny. She is
the author of Windows, a prose work,
and two biographies: Dangerous Poet,
about Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński,
and What a Pity: The Short Life of Paula
Modersohn-Becker. She also wrote This
Country, a personal story about Poland
and emigration. Arno was born in Lower
Silesia, she went to high school in Cracow,
and she studied art history at the Institute
of Fine Arts at New York University.
