We are pleased to inform that Anna Janko’s book – „A Small Annihilation” – has been chosen as one of the 7 contenders for this year’s edition of the Angelus Award (out of 70 other titles). The winner will be announced on the 15th of October 2016.

The ANGELUS Central European Literature Award (the most important award in the field of creative prose translated into the Polish language) is directly connected with the centuries long tradition of Wroclaw as a city of meetings and dialogue. Due to its history and location, Wroclaw has always stood as a place where various nations, cultures and intellectual currents have overlapped. The award shall be presented on an annual basis to writers from Central Europe whose works undertake themes most relevant to the present day, encourage reflection and deepen the knowledge of the world of other cultures. The contest shall be decided on 2 December 2006 in Wroclaw. The prize shall be a cheque in the amount of 150,000 Polish zloty and a statuette by Ewa Rossano. The award is funded and organised by the City of Wroclaw.
